Jonathan is an award-winning Equity actor having performed in plays and on tours across the country. He holds a BA in Dramatic Arts (double emphasis in Directing and Playwriting) from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MFA in Acting from Brandeis University in Boston, and is a certified actor/combatant through the Society of American Fight Directors. He has appeared on numerous TV shows and commercials, including recently in Austin in commercials for Car-to-Go and TEXpress Lanes. He frequently lends his voice to commercials and narrations, having recently recorded a spot for United Way of Williamson County.
As a director, Jonathan has experience working with actors of all ages and levels of experience. He has directed professional actors in both NYC and Austin, as well as high school and college productions. In addition to directing, Jonathan has experience with fight choreography.
Jonathan is also a credentialed K-12 teacher and currently teaches Theatre courses for Austin Community College. Before teaching for ACC, Jonathan instructed courses at the Georgetown Palace (where he served as the Director of Education and Interim Executive Director), Tex-Arts, Southwestern University, Brandeis University, and various schools and camps in California and New York.
Jonathan lives his wife Jaimie and Austin, TX, where he can be found playing dress-up and whiffle-ball with his daughter (age 6) and son (age 4).
