Jonathan is an award-winning Equity actor having performed in plays and on tours across the country. He holds a BA in Dramatic Arts (double emphasis in Directing and Playwriting) from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MFA in Acting from Brandeis University in Boston, and is a certified actor/combatant through the Society of American Fight Directors. He has appeared on numerous TV shows and commercials, including in the Central Texas market in commercials for Car-to-Go and TEXpress Lanes. He frequently lends his voice to commercials and narrations, including a spot for United Way of Williamson County.
As a director, Jonathan has experience working with actors of all ages and levels of experience. He has directed professional actors in both NYC and Austin, as well as high school and college productions. In addition to directing, Jonathan has experience with fight choreography (SAFD certified actor/combatant).
As a producer, Jonathan has produced over 30 plays and musicals between the Georgetown Palace, TexARTS, and as the Founder of the SkyDome Stage Company, based in Pflugerville.
Jonathan is also a credentialed K-12 teacher and currently teaches Theatre courses for Austin Community College. Before teaching for ACC, Jonathan instructed courses at the Georgetown Palace (where he served as the Director of Education and Interim Executive Director), TexARTS, Southwestern University, Brandeis University, and various schools and camps in California and New York.
Jonathan resides in Pflugerville where, when not making theatre, he can be found playing dress-up and sports with his daughter (age 8) and son (age 6).
